Our Staff

The Leesburg Presbyterian congregation dates from 1782 owing its origin to the missionary efforts of the Rev. Amos Thompson.  Thompson, ordained in 1762, served the Continental Army as chaplain during the Revolutionary War.  As organizing pastor, he dedicated the sanctuary on May 5, 1804, with 27 persons forming the congregation.

Throughout the years, we've documented the milestones through photographs, newspaper clippings, personal accounts, and transcripts.  Excerpts from our historical archives are provided in subsequent pages (links on the left).

Please contact the webmaster if you have any information of historical significance to share.
