Caregivers is a non-profit interfaith volunteer caregiver
organization that was founded by Leesburg Presbyterian in 1993 and
has grown to include many congregations in the area. LPC
members have served as staff and directors. Caregivers serve
elderly and disabled people in the Loudoun community.
Volunteers can provide transportation to medical appointments,
grocery shopping, respite sitting, meals, friendly visiting, chores,
and other tasks. Caregivers has a "Pet Therapy" program which
allows volunteers who have been specially trained to visit with
pets.
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older; however youth under
18 years old may volunteer with an adult. Training is
required, but volunteers develop their own schedule. |
